Sheltering Tree

I made this card last night for a co-worker of my boyfriend's whose brother passed away. I used the Sheltering Tree set from SU! The background is a french script that I got at Hobby Lobby.

Kissing Technique

I made this All About U card tonight for a friend who just had a baby. I used the kissing technique on the U. I stamped it first in Passion Pink. I then took a stamp from Flowers from Autumn Leaves and stamped it in chocolate chip, then stamped it onto the U. I used the same swirl stamp as on the U for the background of the card, which I stamped in Versamark. I also used Basic Grey "Infuse" papers on this card.

Altered Clothespin

I FINALLY finished altering a clothespin that I found in my drawer at work. I have had the sides covered for a while, just never added any embellishments. The sides of the clothespin were not fun to cover either by the way (but I purchased more of these to make...hmm..go figure). I adhered the DP with Mod Podge, then allowed it to dry for about an hour. I then used the Mod Podge as a sealant. Flowers and ribbon were used to finish it. I'm going to use it as a picture frame once I move in a few weeks. I also created a Christmas card using my Papertrey Ink Stamps which arrived on Saturday. I used Old Olive and Always Artichoke cardstock and inks. I also used Sahara Sand and Basic Grey Markers to ink up some of the snowflakes. I sponged the entire card with Chocolate Chip. I was going to use a punch that I got at Target for $1 on each corner, but I realized it didn't have a guide and they were going to be uneven after I finally punched through the first corner, so I laced some ribbon through and tied a knot in the front to cover it up. I finished it off with some Star Dust Stickles in the center of each snowflake. I'm getting a sinus infection, so I'm off to bed since my Tylenol Sinus PM is about to kick in. Wish me luck tomorrow. My assistant is going to a mandatory meeting in the morning so I'm going to have to fend for myself with my students. Ugh:(

Cards made over Thanksgiving

I'm home and unpacked, so it's time to post the cards that I made over Thanksgiving. I used some of my mom's stamp sets that I don't have to make these cards. The first card is from the Luv ya Bunches set, which retired last year. This card was cased from last year's catalog, except I doodled around the edges of the real red cardstock instead of sewing it. The second card is another faux cracked glass card using the set Abundant Joy. The third card I cased from the current catalog using Vases in Vogue. The last card I used my new Lizzie Anne snowman stamp and the Marvy Giga Oval Punch to create the main image. I also colored a few Bellas during my days off, but I haven't made them into cards yet. We went craft shopping and I found a few things to alter, so I'll be posting that when I'm finished too.

Faux Cracked Glass

I finally tried this technique yesterday. I used SU!'s True Friend set from the current mini catalog for the main image. I stamped in Groovy Guava, then rock n' rolled the tips in Blue Bayou. I embossed 6 times, then stuck the paper in the freezer for a few minutes before cracking it. I couldn't get the powder to stick to the embossed part while it was still warm, so I just versamarked over the whole image each time. I went over the cracks with Chocolate Chip, but you can't really tell. I finished off the card with some Purely Pomegranate ribbon, a spiral shape clip, and some cream and peach ribbon tied around that. I like the look of this technique, but didn't like embossing so many times, so today I went to the LSS and bought some Ultra Thick Enbossing Enamel. Hopefully I will only have to emboss 3 times to get the desired effect.
