SC 175 and 176

I'm still trying to catch up with challenges. The first card's image is from a retired set called Abundant Joy. The DPs are from BasicGrey's Urban Couture collection. I used the coluzzle to cut the circle out. The sentiment is a Rub-on from SAB. The second card is going to be my boyfriend's birthday card. The set is Crab and Co. I stamped the crab once on the white piece. Then I stamped both his claws again on scraps, colored them, and cut them out. I stamped the cupcake and gift on scraps also. Then I colored them and cut them out. I then layered the cupcake and gift so that part of the claw overlapped them and glued the claws over the first image I stamped. I used the Shell wheel inked with Close to Cocoa on River rock to create the beach. I used my watercolor wonder crayons to color the main image.

New Product Line from SU!

Stampin' Up! announced yesterday that they would be adding Decor Elements to their product line. They come in different sizes and 3 different colors: Kraft, White, and Chocolate Chip. This is just a preview, or Phase 1, as they called it, of what is to come. They will announce more at convention. Anyway, after getting my tire fixed this morning (it had a nail in it....they just seem to find their way into my tires) I made 3 cards. I need to go pack to go to WV for about a week, so I won't write much (plus I should be making dinner!). The first card is for SCS174, using Bloomin' Beautiful and the Afternoon Tea DP. The second card was done using a Fresh Cut Note. The images on the last card are from a clear mini set made by Inkadinkado for $1. The sentiment says, "Does this diaper make my butt look big?" I can't wait to use another one of the mini sets that says "Poo Happens." I have an idea of using Choc. Chip ink and a color spritzer...hmmmm. Be back in a week :)

I got a Promotion :)

My SU! promotion certificate and pin came in the mail today. (I covered up my last name w/a pink strip of paper so as to keep all stalkers away, haha.) I also made a card for SCS173 using the set Pretty Amazing. I hope this sets comes off the dormant list and returns with the Spring/Summer '09 catty. I love that hummingbird. I should have layered the Rose Red piece of the flower with dimensionals onto the Teal flower to add dimension to the card, but I didn't. The small orange flower is from Flower Fusion, with a brad in the middle.

SCS172...trying to catch up on challenges

I love the colors in this card. I used my watercolor crayons for the first time to color the flower. Then I added stickles and a pearl. The DP is Ginger Blossom.

Diagonal Double Pocket Card

I used this tutorial from SCS to create the fold for this card. The paper used is Afternoon Tea in the current Mini. I used Chipboard for the main flower image, which I pushed onto the Groovy Guava ink pad to give some color. I then layered a scallop circle and a chipboard circle covered in DP on top. One tag has the "t" from Cause for Celebration (a level 2 hostess set) on it, and the other tag has a flower from Embrace Life. I also used some silver HPH on the sentiment, which is from the set Small Sayings.

Playing with new stuff

I was finally able to play with some of my new stuff today. The first card I made using Fresh Cuts and Fresh Cut notes, which will both be available with the new catalog. I used Pixie Pink paper stamped with black ink under the die cut flower. I then layered pink Primas onto the middle of the flower. I used my new color spritzer tool to put pink droplets on the white paper, then put a black leaf on the bottom corner. I finished it off with black and pink sheer ribbon. These are the colors of my brother and his fiance's wedding, so I will probably be using it for them. The second card I made using the Simply Scrappin' kit that is available as a Level 3 Hostess set. The layout for the card is SCS170. (I'm trying to catch up for all the weeks I've been away from my stuff.) The small rectangles are stickers. Again, I used the color spritzer tool to spritz Choc. Chip onto the Bashful Blue cardstock. I colored 3 different sizes of white flowers from the Pretties Kit using the Pastels and sponge daubers, then layered them on top of a Hat Pin from the kit. The DP and wide Saffron Ribbon come with the kit too.

Retired and Dormant Lists posted

See SU!'s Retired and Dormant lists on their website. The retiring sets are available until Aug. 10. The dormant sets will still be available through the next catty, they just won't appear in the catalog. I have unpacked *most* of my stuff in Augusta now, so I will be stamping and posting cards later. I'll probably use a few of my retiring stamps. I am sad to see the Weathered and Print Pattern BG's go. I love Much Appreciated too.
