SCS71

The first card is for SCS71, the sketch from a few weeks ago. I used Bella Rose DSP, and an stamp from Dreams du Jour. The 2nd card is the Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder, and I used the brayer to ink it up. You can kinda see where I didn't brayer as evenly, but not bad for a 1st attempt. I used the new Ovals All set with scallop oval punch for the sentiment.

sketch challenges

I worked on some recent challenges today. The first card is for WSC71. I used the Great Friend set from the Occasions mini. I also used 2 texture plates- daisies and paisley. I inked the sentiment up with markers to get the 2 different colors. The butterfly was heat embossed using Apricot Appeal craft ink and clear EP on Blush Blossom paper. I added some Hero Arts gemstones to the middle of the butterfly for some added bling to go with the Fire rhinestone brads. The second card was for SCS220. The set is called Scene in a Garden, and is probably my favorite from the mini. I colored the images with Watercolor Wonder Crayons. The strips of paper on the BG are from the Taste of Textiles package, and I ran the bronze paper through the BG with the distressed texture plate. I also added a corduroy button, and layered the coordinating ribbon colors. The Stamp-a-ma-jig was a BIG help with this card.

WSC72

This was a great sketch to work with, since it used my favorite-the Top Note Die. I used Raspberry Tart DP on a Rose Red base. The flower image is from Soft Summer, which is in the Occasions Mini (begins April 1). It is a two-step set. I stamped first using the fill-in stamp which The image was colored with Old Olive and Rose Red Markers. I then stamped the outline in black with the help of the Stamp-a-ma-jig. I did the out of the box technique because the image was too big for the sketch. Then I used the Simple Flower Embosslit and Boho Blossoms punch with pearls in the middle as the embellishments. I also used the new Whisper White Sattin Ribbon across the bottom.

Pocket Card

I spent most of the afternoon cutting paper for an upcoming workshop, and as I was cutting, I found some paper that I cut for the last workshop I did (almost a year ago). It was a pocket card, so I decided to make something with it, since it had been sitting there for so long. I used both Felt Fusions, Green Tea DSP, the new Matchbox Messages set with Lots of Tags die cut, and some new Satin Ribbon. I also remade a few cards that I've posted before-the one with the glittery butterfly I redid using DSP for the butterflies and I also used the Soft Summer stamp to add a background. I also remade the Great Friends card- I added a layer of Tangerine Tango, so that the grommet could be set using the 1/2 " circle, the way it's supposed to be.

Playing with new stuff

I'm trying to decide on one more card for my mom's stamp camp. So, I'm playing around with some new things. The first card is a Kraft base with Rose Red paper that has the flowery BG Texture plate imprinted on it. I also used the Sweetest Stems embosslit, a tag from Lots of Tags, the Naturally Serif decorative strip, and some Taste of Textiles paper...no actual stamping. The second card's stamped images are from Soft Summer. The sentiment is from Oval All, and the outer layer was punched with the new oval scallop. The butterfly is die cut with Sticky pages, and has green glitter on it. This was the card I was planning on doing for the stamp camp, but the glitter is kind of messy.

This last card is probably the one I will end up having them do. I ran Pink Pirouette through the Manhattan flowers embossing folder. I used the Oval All set and punch again, and added some celery ribbon. So simple, yet elegant looking.

Stamp Camp Card

I got this card from the Stampin Up! website on the demo site. The stamp set is called Great Friend (new in the upcoming mini!). I stamped the leaf stamp in versamark on the Baja Breeze cardstock. Then I stamped the frame in Old Olive onto the same colored cardstock, and did the same with the "for you" stamp. The butterfly is tangerine tango, and then cut out. I also used a jumbo grommet from the mini, with a small piece of Old Olive ribbon tied on the side. You are supposed to punch a 1/2" circle and put the grommet through that, but since it's in the middle of the card, I just taped down the side hidden by the paper, then put a piece of a dimensional under the other side. The OO piece and the butterfly are up on dimensionals also. I stamped the other sentiment stamp from the set on the inside. It says "You're a friend who makes good times great."

WSC70

I took the day off to go to the dentist, so I made a card this afternoon using WSC70 from Beate's blog. I started out with Kraft cardstock, and layered Green Tea DSP on top. I used Botanical Blooms (from SAB) for the image, and the espanol BG stamp from Flores Suaves. For the flowers, I stamped the inside once in Bordering Blue, and again in Baja Breeze at a different angle. The sentiment is from Really Retro. I stamped it on the small oval, then layered that on a large oval punched from Kraft DSP. I layered that onto a 1 3/8" circle, and put that on a scallop circle. The whole thing is on dimensionals. I also added a white button from Button Latte with some Old Olive Ribbon.

catching up on challenges

The Friends 24-7 card (with the bird) uses the WS69 sketch from Beate's blog. I stamped the bird once in Sahara Sand, then again in Not Quite Navy and cut out the bird from the NQN to layer on the other one. I used the eyelet border punch, a tag die cut from the Lots of Tags set, and a corduroy button. The sentiment is from SAB set Botanical Blooms. The second card is SCS217. I used a 1" square punch and layered the Trendy Trees onto the scallop squares. I punched the sentiment out with the word window and put a Choc. Chip from the Button latte at the end. I also used the Small Dots Texture plate on the long Apricot Appeal layer to go along with the dots on the Green Tea DSP.

Branch Out

This is similar to a card I did recently, but we will be doing this one at a stamp camp. I wanted to use the Vanilla HPH frames on something, since I got them in bulk. I punched out Summer Sun with the Designer Label, then Lavender Lace with the 1 1/4" circle, then Mellow Moss with the 1" circle to layer under the HPH. I also used the small dots texture plate, and Mellow Moss Ribbon.
