Another SCS Challenge
Tonight, I made a card for SC93 using Flowers and Flourish and some DP. It was fun because both sides of the DP get to show with this sketch. I started on another sketch challenge, but the image I decided to use wasn't rectangular, so I didn't finish that challenge. I used Abundant Joy for that card. There is white organdy ribbon overlapping the red, but it doesn't show up much in the picture.

Color/Sketch Challenge
Chipboard Camp Creations
These are the cards and the box we made at my demo's house for a camp using the Chipboard set On Board Blossoms and Basics. I like the ideas I got. And I dyed the ribbon on the 4 Leaf Clover Card, which I had never done before. Now I can have any color ribbon I need! The box (Rust in first pic) was pre-cut and my demo bought it as a pre-made kit at Convention. She gave us the template in case we want to cut our own, but it seems like it would be difficult to cut out, so I probably won't be making any more of these, even though it's cute.

Waterfall Card
I decided to try something new today, so I looked through the resources on SCS and found this tutorial. I used Double Line Doodles for the images. The hardest part was figuring out how to tape the four squares to the long horizontal piece. Maybe I was over-analyzing it, but I couldn't figure it out for a while. Now that I know how to do it, it won't be difficult though. I will definitely make more of these because they are so different and interesting. I'm going to go enjoy the rest of my day off until time to go to Stamp Camp. We're working on chipboard tonight, and I'm interested to learn how to use it. Should be fun!
Wild Bananas Color Challenge
I made this card for the Wild Bananas color challenge on SCS. The colors were Elegant Eggplant, Wild Wasabi, and Barely Banana, but I don't have any Barely Banana, so I used So Saffron DSP instead. I also tried to use only current sets since I'm about to be a demo, and might need some cards to display if I do a workshop or 2. I'm not too sure I like it now. Hmmm. Oh well. The set is called True Friend. I also used small stickers from the Build-a-Flower kit for the insides of the flowers.

Valentine In-Color Card
I got the idea for this card from SCS. I used Purely Pom., Blue Bayou, Chocolate Chip and Confetti Cream Paper. I used the Marvy Scallop Mega Circle Punch for the main image, then cut the inside circle with the Coluzzle. The image is from Stem Silhouettes, and I stamped off the leaf image twice in Wild Wasabi. "Love" came from the newly retired set All About U. The Flourishes in the BG are from Autumn Leaves Flourishes v. 1. I also used an oval hardware piece, which I attached with the crop-a-dile (and it took me a while to figure out which setting to use with those closed eyelets). I finished the card with some doodling around the scallop, and some Chocolate chip Taffeta Ribbon. I also ticket corner punched the bottom corners.

Snowy Day Creations:)
I finally made a few coasters for myself. I used the Kitty- catabella stamp because it reminds me of myself and the cats; Malachi in my arms and Jaylon at my feet. I colored the image with Sharpies and added some Paisleys in Staz-on. I also made a set of coasters for a friend that I'm going to visit this weekend using cosmobella and a sentiment from stampingbella. I've posted ones that I made for other friends at Christmas, so I won't post these because they are very similar. Then I created a card with Vases in Vogue which I just got. It is cased from the Fall Catty. Tonight I made a card with On Gossamer Wings, which I have wanted for a while even though it's retired. I used the In-Colors, corner rounder, and my new texturing tool on this card. I had a different card idea in mind when I sat down to stamp, but I like how it ended up even better.

Scrapped card CASEd from old catty
This card is totally cased from the 2006-2007 Catalog. The DP is called Look Like Spring, and so is the stamp set (the friend and olive flower are stamped). I also used the coordinating punch. I doodled around the edges using a doodling template and gel pen. I used the 1 3/8 in. square punch for the squares. This was quick and easy to make.
Flowers and Flourish
I think this card is so pretty. The set is Flowers and Flourish, which I had to buy before it retired (especially since I had just bought the matching DP). I also used a Stampabilities stamp called Retro Flower Lines for the BG. I got this stamp at Hobby Lobby because it reminded me of the Spotted wheel (which also just retired), but since I'm not that good at wheelin' I thought this stamp would be a good substitute. I think it works really well with this set. I used some Linen thread, and a metal circle tag as embellishments, and sponged around the sentiment in Pink Passion and Chocolate Chip to make it a bit aged looking.

Winter Card
This is the winter card I made for my Jan. monthly club meeting. We drew names, and some people are making winter cards and others are making spring cards to share at the meeting. I used my newly retired Simply Snowman set, along with Much Appreciated and an alphabet from KitchenSink Stamps. I rounded the corners on all the layers, then used the Crop-a-dile to set a Jumbo eyelet in the corner. The white paper is shimmery, not sure if it shows up much in the picture.

B-day Card and Distressed Paisley
I made 2 cards last night. The first is a birthday card for my grandma, who loves orange. I used the set Love Ya Bunches and some retired DP. This was a really quick card because it was my bed time :) and her birthday was actually Monday! I used Double Line Doodles and some Rose Red DP. I thought it was missing something, so I embossed the sentiment on it, but you can't really tell. I am going to donate this card to the troops overseas as well.
Monday, January 7, 2008
I made this yesterday using ideas from an inspiration sheet. The set is called Love without end. I also used one flower from Flowers and Flourish as the bg flower for the blue flower. The colors I used were Rose Red, Old Olive, and Bordering Blue. The blue flower has a hole punched in the middle, then I tied a knot of ribbon through it.

Embossed Rose
I have had the idea in my head for awhile about this card, but finally had the time to make it tonight. I couldn't get a good picture of it...maybe I'll try again tomorrow in the daylight. For the BG, I used Fine Lace. The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations, with ticket corners. I embossed the rose from Abundant Joy in Red EP and punched it out with the Marvy Scallop circles. I hope to have lots of time to stamp tomorrow with some more of my new sets!
