SC195

I finally had some time to stamp today. I went to Pre-K training last week, so I spent yesterday creating assessment folders for the kids, adding content standards to lesson plans, and writing a newsletter. I also just relaxed since I hadn't been home at all. The card is for SC195. I used Autumn Vine paper with the old "Daisy" set. I dry embossed it with the Daisy Classy Brass. The scrapbook page I had started a few weeks ago, but never finished. I used a Really Rust sheet from the Spanish DP Juntos as the base. I added rub-ons, felt flowers, and even some chipboard until I felt it was filled up enough.

SC194

The stamp set used is "Harvest Hello." It is an older set, but I like this scarecrow better than the one that's currently in the mini catty. The Autumn Vine DP and felt ribbon are from the Holiday Mini. The felt is stuck down with Sticky Strip because people on SCS were saying that it won't stick with just tape. I used the 1" circle punch to make a layer for the More Mustard button. The main image is up on dimensionals.

me in 1968

Some friends have been using a site called yearbookyourself.com. You upload your picture and it will put you in different photos from every 2 years between 1950 and 2000. It was pretty funny. This was my photo from 1968, and I remember my mom having this hairdo in many pictures in her yearbook. I had to share it. My favorites were the ones with the cat eye glasses! Maybe I'll post some others later.

Home for Christmas

I know it's early for Christmas cards, but I couldn't wait to use this set. I stamped it in Staz-on Timber Brown, then watercolored it with crayons and a blender pen. I layered Ski Slope DP onto Close to Cocoa, then tore Riding Hood Red as the background for the main image. I layered the sentiment onto a wide oval. I added some HPH with Alpine Ribbon, and an Alpine Ribbon tab at the top of the image. I meant to sponge a little color onto the side of the image to make a sky, but I forgot because I was interrupted by a huge spider crawling up my wall!

SC193 and WSC57

Time for this week's sketches. The first card is for SC193. I used "Snow Swirled," Ski Slope DP (it's in the holiday mini), and Little Felt Flurries (also in the mini). The next card is for WSC57. I used the set "Flores Suaves" and Juntos DP from the Spanish supplement. I also added silver HPH and a mini library clip. The sentiment is from level 1 hostess set "Best Yet."

WSC44

I used Beate's WSC44 for this one. The DP's are retired- Rose Red and Groovy Guava. I colored the stamp with markers to get the different colors. I added a filigree brad over the flower stamp on the hillside. I also added a scallop edge piece stamped with a butterfly in Versamark. The inside says, "Hope everything's going well in your little corner of the world."

WSC56

The first card is for George's niece's birthday. I used layout WSC56. The designer paper and ribbons are from basicgrey. The image is from the new Four Square set. I stamped it in Lovely Lilac and used daubers to add a bit of Close to Cocoa around the edges. I layered it on a Close to Cocoa scallop square. I used lots of new stuff on the second card. I stamped Cute and Curly in Not quite Navy, then added flowers and leaves from Pocket Silhouettes to the label. The DP is from Urban Garden. I added a Kiwi Kiss button and some Pink Pirouhette ribbon to it and distressed the edges.

Jaylon and Malachi

My cat Jaylon often uses me as a footrest. He'll come up, lay beside my leg, and kick his leg over top of my own. Today, he got up from laying with me and went over to Malachi and kicked his leg over Malachi's neck. I took one picture of them from behind. Then, I left the room for a minute. When I came back out, Jaylon had gotten even more comfortable and moved his whole leg around the back of Malachi's neck. I took another picture of them like that from the front. They were sitting like this for a long long time! I just had to share the pictures.

SC192

I spent about 3 hours getting my hair done this morning, and the WVU game is coming on soon, so I've only made 1 card today. It is for this week's sketch challenge. I used Inspired by Nature. To get the different colors on the flowers, I put the ink on with sponge daubers -Close to Coca for the flower tops, Pretty in Pink for the petals (with Pale Plum on the edges of the petals) and Wild Wasabi for the stems. I really like the way it turned out. I scallop edge punched Wild Wasabi textured paper, and put a layer of Berry Bliss DP under that. I finished it off with a sentiment from Small Script with SS HPH, and some Pretty in Pink Taffeta. Time to cheer on the Mountaineers!

Enjoying the day off

I worked on some more Weekend Sketch Challenges today. The first card was made with the Accents and Elements Roof Garden kit. Sketch 45 reminded me of the small border sticker in the kit. This came together very quickly since I didn't have to actually stamp anything. The second card uses WSC46. The flower is from Eastern Blooms and the sentiment is from Fabulous Flowers. I added some Old Olive 5/8 ribbon with So Saffron Fairy Tale Originals layered on top. The flowers have stickles in the centers, and I added a mini library clip and Flower Fusion to the sentiment. The last card is similar to a card I CASEd a while ago from a Stampin' Success magazine. The grass is from Inspired by Nature and the sentiment is from Bella Blossoms. I also put a pink Pirouette flourish in the middle of the sentiment, but it doesn't show up in the picture. I added silver HPH and Baja Breeze ribbon.
