SC186
I made this card for SC186. I used a retired set called "You Make me Happy". I really like the color combo. It is Blush Blossom, Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive, and Groovy Guava. I used a Build-a-Brad in the center of the flower. The ribbon is from one of the retiring Ribbon Originals (Sherbet I think). I didn't put a sentiment on it so that I can add one for an occasion later if I need to. Convention starts tomorrow, so hopefully some convention-goers will post new catty pics on their blogs in the next few days.

Thankful
I made this card today with a stamp from "Season of Thanks" because I am so thankful to finally have a job for the upcoming school year! I had pretty much given up hope. I used Tangerine Tango, So Saffron DP, and Garden Green. Since I didn't have any ribbon in any of those colors, I dyed some White Taffeta by putting my finger inside of a plastic bag and running the ribbon between my finger and the ink pad. It looks a little dark in the picture, but not IRL. I used the layout from SC68.

Window Dressing
I finally tried the "Window Dressing" set (Level 3 Hostess set in upcoming catty) today since my Crystal Effects came. I put a cat and bird in the window since my cats love watching birds. Then I put Crystal Effects on the windows (leaving the bird uncovered since he's outside) with a small paintbrush. I layered 3 different widths of ribbon at the bottom of the card. On the 2nd card, I stamped the forms from "I like your style" onto DP to paper piece it. I added some fibers to make a boa, but it looks kind of funny in the picture. The sentiment is from the SAB set "Lots of Thoughts."

Sunday Stamping
The first card I made using the set Toy Box. I CASEd the layout from the current catty. I couldn't get the circles punched straight, but when I added the toys and the words, it still looked okay. I also used All Scallops to stamp the spots inside of the scallops I punched along the edge. The second card I made for the secretary at the school where I used to work. I found out this afternoon that she lost the baby she was carrying. I used Lovely as a Tree and Warmest Regards for this card.

Garden Collage
Here's a quick card I made with Garden Collage which I got in a trade for a pack of Chocolate Chip paper! I colored the image with sponge daubers and pastels, then sprayed it with hairspray so they wouldn't come off. I then tore out the image and layered it on Not Quite Navy. I added the wide Saffron ribbon from an Originals pack and some non SU! brads . All the layers are up on dimensionals, which I seem to be addicted to lately.
Knobbly Gnomes
Today I used Knobbly Gnomes. The DP is Fall Flowers. I colored him with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and blender pens. I used a sponge to do the sky, and a paintbrush to dab ink close to the gnome. I added Kraft Taffeta and a ribbon slide inside of the knot. The sentiment says "It takes a long time to grow an old friend."

Reverse Spotlighting
The first card I made today is for SC185 and the set is called Sweet Herbs. I loved this set as soon as I saw it and I got it in a trade this week! I was so excited, I never thought someone would offer it to me for a trade. I'd tried getting on e-bay before, but I always got outbid. I may add something to this card, but I stopped working on it because I had a headache. The second card I made using the reverse spotlighting tutorial. You can find it here. I used the new set Wow Flowers, the 1" circle punch, New In Colors (Pink Pirouette, Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point Ink, Baja Breeze, and Apricot Appeal). I also used a rhinestone brad and some silver HPH with Apricot Appeal Grosgrain. I used Priceless for the swirls and small flowers on the Pink Pirouette.

Flower Power
Here are the other two designs that are in the Flower Power Simply Sent Card Elements Kit. Again, these are very quick to make. I made 3 of these in 30 minutes. I hope there are some more of these in the new catalog, because you can really make lots of cards quickly. And these are good if you don't have many supplies because they come with the ribbon, buttons, and brads. I also like the color combo on this one. I'm going to have to use it for some other cards.
New Stuff :)
I played with my new sets today! Almost everything is new on the first card. The image is from Dreams du Jour. I watercolored it with ink pooled in the lid of the new pads. The card is Pink Pirouette with Bella Rose DP and Kiwi Kiss scallops. I layered the image on chocolate chip and added chocolate chip taffeta. The next two cards are from Serene Spring. The bird card uses Baja Breeze as the base with Pretty in Pink and Not Quite Navy. I scallop punched the side of card front. The rabbit card's base color is Pacific Point with Bella Rose DP. I scallop punched the Baja Breeze square to make scallops like on this tutorial. My corners ended up funny though, so I'll have to try again. I added primas to the one corner to cover it up. I may post some more cards from the Card Elements Kit tonight if I get them done.

New Stuff!
My pre-order stuff FINALLY arrived today, but it didn't get here till 6:00, so I didn't have much time to play. I quickly made a card with my new Simply Sent Card Elements Kit, which coordinates with the new set Wow Flowers. This kit comes with Textured Cardstock, Designer Paper, Grosgrain in White and More Mustard, Die Cut Stickers, Buttons in Mustard and Olive, and Mustard Brads. Directions for 3 different cards also come with the kit. It makes 9 cards in all. I made this one in about 15 minutes. I hope there are more of these in the catty. I think it cost 15.95. I'm sure there will be more things posted tomorrow :)

Sunday Stampin
I was trying to use up some of the scraps on my table today. The first card has a hat pin from the Pretties kit stuck through the Choc. Chip Ribbon. The flowers are from the Pretty Amazing set. The second card's image is from Sweet of You, and the sentiment is from Curvy Verses. The third card is from a set called Right at Home. I used the black marker with 2 different sentiments to make it say Welcome home!. The colors on this card are the 2006-2007 In Colors. My SU! pre-order will be here tomorrow, so I should have lots of new stuff to show then. I'm getting the scallop border punch, a few sets, and the new In Color pads, paper, and a pack of DP.

It's my birthday and I'll stamp if I want to
It's my birthday! The first card I made with the topiary trees from the set "Sweet of You." The sentiment comes from "A little birthday Cheer." I added some prima flowers, a button, and some ribbon from SU!'s originals. The second set is with Touch of Nature, and I cased this card from the 2006 Catty.

more cards
The first card that is posted I cased from the 2006 catty. Touch of Nature is such a pretty set. The scooter is from a set called The Wheel Thing. I used Real Red Craft ink and clear embossing powder to make it look shiny. Then I stamped the side panel again, embossed it, and put it on a dimensional so that it looked like it's sticking out.

SC184
It's a good thing the lady who posted this challenge included measurements for the squares, because otherwise I probably wouldn't have figured this one out. I used Please be Seated for the chair, and Crab and Co. for the things in the small squares. I colored them with WW Crayons and blender pens. I feel like it's missing ribbon, or hardware, or something, but I couldn't find anywhere to put anything else. Wish I was at the beach in that chair right now~

New to me Sets
I've been trading a few things on Splitcoaststampers.com, and 2 new sets came in the mail yesterday so I wanted to play with them today, even though it's not the season for them. The first card's images come from a set called "Fall for All." There is also a stamp of a little boy sitting in a pile of leaves. Maybe I'll use that one tomorrow. The second set is called "Be Mine" which is what the heart that the girl is painting says. Since I didn't want mine to say that, I used the Choc. Chip marker to stamp just the outline of the heart onto pink paper. I cut it out and wrote Hi on it. There is also a boy stamp in this set: he's pushing a wheelbarrow full of hearts. I had never seen either set before until a fellow stamper offered them to me for something I was no longer using. I think both sets are so cute!

CASEing
I didn't feel like coming up with anything today, so I just CASEd some things I'd been meaning to make out of the Stampin' Success magazine that demonstrators receive each month. The first card was very easy to do. The words are from the set "Kind Thoughts." I just had to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line them up so that they'd fit in the oval punch. The second card is "Baroque Motifs." To make the flower at the top, I punched Choc. Chip with the Scallop Circle, then punched 2 Bashful Blue 5 Petal Flowers. Then I stamped the flower in Purely Pom., layered the whole thing and put a rhinestone brad in the middle. The white paper is shimmery but you can't tell in the picture. The third is "A Beautiful Life" which I think is on the dormant list for the new catty. I embossed the white part on the flower to make it stand out.

challenges...finally caught up
I have finally caught up on the challenges. Now I'll have to go back and do some of the older challenges. It makes it so much easier to me when the layout is already done and I just have to find things to go in with it. Both stamp sets that I used are $1 sets from Inkadinkado. The first card is for SC183. The second card is a layout from Beate's blog that I really liked, WSC #52. I will definitely use this layout again.

Groovy...Guava that is
Every card I made today had Groovy Guava in it for some reason. I didn't plan it that way. The cards I made today are for SC180, SC181, and SC182 in that order. For the first card, I used an old set called "Bulbs in Bloom." This is one of my all-time favorite sets. I used "Afternoon Tea" DSP and pierced around the layers. I also used some Silver HPH. For the ribbon slide, I tied a knot in the Soft Sky ribbon, and slid the slide over the HPH so that the knot looked like the middle of the flower. After I was finished with this, I noticed that the butterflies on the Guava layer are upside down. Oops! The next card's images are from the set "Enjoy Life" along with the coordinating wheel "Daisy Dash." I stamped the small flower from that set and put inside of a build-a-brad. I rolled the wheel in Versamark so that it would lightly show on the Guava paper. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the "Every Moment" stamp straight because I kept stamping it crooked. The third card's image is from Thoughts of Father. I used the square punches to cut squares in different designs from "Afternoon Tea." Then colored the image with marker.

SC179 and a cute gift
I had to make this card for George's b-day from our kitties. I used the layout from SC179 for it. The set is one of the $1 sets from Inkadinkado. I also posted a picture of the fruit arrangement that George's family sent us for our birthdays (we were born 6 days apart). It's from Edible Arrangements . See more at ediblearrangements.com. The are so cute and ours is delicious. I just had to share it.

SC177
The first card is for SC177. The set is a clear set by Inkadinkado for $1. I chose the colors by using SU's Color Coach. The fish is paper pieced. The second card started out to be for SC178, but the image I wanted to use was too big. I'll have to try that one again today maybe. The set I used is from Papertrey, called Eat Cake. I also used the Stitched BG. I used some Prima flowers and the corner punches to finish it.
